Taupō Women's Refuge and Foodbank
teams.
We have a well-developed Strategic Direction, and we need a dynamic and committed individual to lead and deliver on the priorities, and implement initiatives which support our vision of reducing domestic violence and providing crisis food support within the community.
This is your opportunity to make a real difference in your communityDay to day operations of the refuge and foodbank are maintained by Team Leads, with the key responsibility of ensuring the best practise procedures and systems are in place, developing our hard working and dedicated team, ensuring they are given the guidance and direction to do their best, sitting within the GM accountability.
What are we looking for?We are looking for someone special, you will have a genuine passion for our community and be the perfect mix of practical and conceptual - someone who can look at our plan and design, develop and implement initiatives which will have real positive results to our community.
You will be resilient and adaptable, adept with reporting and presenting at governance level and have a positive and enthusiastic attitude as well as excellent communication, networking and time management skills.
It is imperative that your relationship with the Governance board is open and transparent, to ensure the delivery of the strategic direction is supported by a passionate board.
Ideally, you will have a social worker qualification teamed with at least 5 years' experience working in the management of social services / not-for-profit sector.
You will have successfully managed day-to-day operations of an entity and have proven experience leading and developing a high performing team.
People leadership and management is crucial in this role, you will be provided with frameworks through the national collective and be able to support the team with ongoing professional development, and the network of the collective for support and connections in the leadership and development space.
Your sound understanding of factors that impact our clients, how to get the best for our clients within the social sector and the legislative requirement of our organisation is imperative.
As is an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application.Financial management is key to this role, from an operational perspective and funding/contract management.
You will be savvy and connected to funders, acutely aware of how government contracts work and able to find additional contracts or funds for our initiatives.
You must be strong and experienced in financial reporting and compliance, for contracts, financials and auditing.Why choose us?
