    About the Role:


    We are looking for a Systems Test Engineer to join our team, working on our new range of telecommunications products.

    This is a key role in one of our Agile Scrum teams combining skills in testing, test automation and networking technologies and electronics to enable the delivery quality software on a frequent basis.

    As the Scrum team's software test automation expert, day-to-day tasks encompass active participation in our iterative software development life cycle including requirements analysis, test case design, automated test implementation (Python), test result analysis and defect investigation.

    Collaborating with other software testing automation engineers and providing automated testing support expertise to other teams (based around the globe) will also be regular activities.

    As the need arises, there may also be some manual testing activity. We are seeking someone who has excellent communication skills and a structured and disciplined approach to diagnosing problems.

    Ideally the person would be familiar with the Agile Scrum software development process and is oriented to co-operative teamwork and delivering great results.

    The ideal applicant would normally be expected to have a B.Sc. or B.E. degree, or Masters. Non-graduates may be considered where a proven track record as an effective software test automation engineer can be provided.

    Responsibilities:
    Analyze software testing needs, plan, design, create, execute and maintain system test solutions.
    Design, develop, execute and maintain automated tests in our automation testing framework.
    Help the team identify priority issues, assist them to find the problem and deliver a solution.
    Contribute towards continuous improvement of testing practices.

    Work collaboratively within the team, and Liaise with other engineering teams (digital design, RF engineering, software and network management products).

    Adhere and proactively contribute to the development process.
    Bring best practice test engineering to the team's work.
    Other system testing activities, as required.
    Contribute towards improving the Aviat Networks system development process and procedures.
    Apply Aviat Networks quality assurance practices.
    Provide necessary system testing expertise on other projects, as required.
    Participate in project development reviews, as required.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Competencies:
    Experience as a systems tester.
    Experience with test automation.
    Strong skills in diagnosing problems, troubleshooting and reporting relevant data.
    Knowledge of good software development and testing practices.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    Knowledge of networking protocols and experience with the associated test equipment.
    Source Control and Issue Tracking tools (GIT, JAMA, JIRA, etc.).
    Experience with test automation frameworks.
    Understanding of digital electronics and wireless technologies.
    ISTQB and/or Cisco CCNA Certification.
    Experience in Agile Scrum, proven ability to contribute to teamwork.
    Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
    Use of protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, Ethernet and Bit Error Rate testers and other test equipment.
