About Bianca Kerr-Bell:
I am a registered teacher in New Zealand, where I have been teaching for the past two and a half years at an intermediate school. I plan to move to Riyadh to be with my husband and continue my love for the teaching profession there. I love to play team sports and meet new people.
Experience
I've successfully lead the Cook Island Cultural Group for two years, having collaborated with teaching staff, as well as family of students, to deliver authentic and culturally-rich learning to our eager learners. Our success was evident on International Day, when the students showcased the Cook Island Culture proudly with a beautiful 15 minute performance filled with singing, dancing, art, and laughter.
Inside the classroom, I am passionate about enhancing student agency because I believe it drives student engagement and meaningful learning. My classroom wall at Papatoetoe Intermediate School was filled with visual tracking of students' data, interactive resources such as Editing Checklists for Writing and The Writer's Process, and of course students' learning and more.
Outside the classroom, I am passionate about learning new skills and hobbies and meeting new people. This translates to a love for team sports which I have shared with the students at Papatoetoe Intermediate School by coaching the following sports: Netball, Volleyball, and Softball. Coaching team sports is a great way to teach students how to build self-esteem and healthy relationships with others. The main motivation behind my love for coaching students stems from the privilege of being able to provide students the opportunity to learn something new for themselves.
Education
I am a New Zealand citizen with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in TESOL and Maori studies (Native language of New Zealand) as well as a Graduate Diploma in Primary teaching.
