I have recently completed a conjoint Master's degree in architecture and urban planning at the University of Auckland with five years of experience in the industry across academic, consultancy, local government and freelancing roles. I currently hold the position of Infrastructure Planner at the Far North District Council. A motivated and enthusiastic person, who has a willingness to learn, possesses good written and verbal communication skills and is someone who loves to get things done to the best of their abilities. I am eager to develop new skills to complement my studies and to further progress in my career in the architectural and planning profession.
Experience
Infrastructure Planner, Far North District Council 2023 - Present
As an Infrastructure Planner for the Far North District Council, I assessed infrastructure projects within the Far North for activities that require consent, as well as prepared and lodged these applications. In this role I also undertook engagement on infrastructure consenting issues by initiating, developing, and maintaining relationships with Māori, community, and stakeholders.
Planner, Ashcroft Homes 2020-2023
As a planner for Ashcroft Homes, I was project managing multiple projects ranging from low to medium density residential developments. In this role I processed resource consents and engineering plan approval applications to council on behalf of our clients. This role required me to co-ordinate and communicate effectively with all clients as well as, stakeholders, within the supply chain to provide maximum efficiencies through-out the consenting processes.
Tuakana Mentor, The University of Auckland 2020-2022
As a post-graduate student, this role requires me to run architecture-specific workshops and provide mentoring for under-graduate students within the program.
