Do you work hard, but love to have fun along the way? Do you enjoy working with people and making their day by preparing and serving exceptional food.


We have opportunities for two talented Cooks/Chefs to join our vibrant team at the Hub Café based on the Wintec City Campus, and take responsibility for preparing, cooking, and serving wholesome meals to the 60 students who live in the onsite accommodation.

During the week days you will also assist the café staff with any food prep, baking, and front of house customer service as required.

There is never a dull moment as the cafe is located in the middle of the action, you are part of the culture, music and diversity without being a student

  • Have excellent communication skills and a flexible/cando, committed attitude.
  • Be friendly and engaging with a desire to build rapport with the students and create a hospitable atmosphere for them.
  • Be passionate about good food, and great service.
  • Demonstrate creativity in their food offerings and presentation.
  • Have good time management skills and a desire to be a productive and positive member of the team.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment.


This position is on an educational contract, and so working weeks will be based around the tertiary term and summer breaks.

You will need to be flexible to work public holidays throughout the year but can enjoy extended holidays over the summer months.

There may be the possibility of work at other sites during this time if desired.


he hours of work are:

  • Monday
  • Friday, 12noon 6pm,


  • Saturday

  • Sunday split shift, 10am 1pm and then 3pm 6pm.
